American Grog

While searching for a hot toddy recipe, I ran across one for 'American Grog'. It was another hot lemony drink with sweetener and hot water made with rum. I did a slight variation that I'd like to share for some of these ~chilly~ wintery nights.

In a large mug:
1/2 oz Bacardi 151
1 oz Bacardi Gold
1 oz Capt Morgan's Spiced rum
1 - 2 Tablespoons fine cane sugar (bar sugar, or baker's sugar)
Juice of 1/2 a lemon, or squeeze two 1/4's into the glass (more if you're feeling like you might be getting sick and need the vitamin C)
Hot water

stir and sip
yummmmm

  • Mmmmmm... I can feel my sinuses clearing already! I was thinking as I read this gorgeous recipe... I wonder how a muddled slice of ginger would go with this? Amerikan, no... but might be tasty? Probably already a recipe out there for something like that.
    Excellent post!
    • ooooh...YUMMY!
I will try that next time I make them...which should be tonite.

It's been frigid c-c-c-cold here in Sandy Eggo of late. brrrr
