I just saw this on a show on the travel channel... It was created at The Hotel Cipriani, in Italy, I think, for a Mr George Clooney. Called
a Bella Noche or something like that. (do I look Italian?) I guess that means "Good Night". However, the fresh ginger makes for a great hangover remedy.
Muddle together in an 8 oz glass:
two lime wedges
a slice or two of fresh ginger root
one strip of cucumber peel (English, not the bitter ones)
brown sugar or raw sugar, a couple of teaspoons or to taste
a dash of Angostura bitters
add a liberal portion of vodka (to fill 1/2 the glass, more or less)
add ice
fill to top with cranberry juice
